Who We Are

Tom "TC" Cook: President

  • Born in Denver in 1959, raised in Kansas, Denver resident since 1972.
  • 1979-1984: Worked in the Labor Union for Al Cohen Construction.  Featured projects include the City Center Building (54 stories), the Stellar Plaza Building (32 stories), and The Holy Ghost Church and Highrise Project (28 stories).
  • 1984-present: Production and Sales Manager; Statewide Wholesale Roofing Supply Distribution Center.  Supplying roofing materials to contractors, builders, and developers.
  • 1999-2003:  Along with Joshua Adams, owned and operated Mountain States Metal, Inc. 
  • 2007: Formed PV Solar Planet LLC
  • 2009: Currently working with Joshua to market PV Solar Planet

 

Joshua Adams: Operations and Sales

  • 1999-2003: Responsible for facility operations for Mountain States Metal, Inc.  fabricating sheet metal flashings and custom bent components for contractors, builders, developers, and home owners.  Also fabricated custom-cut architectural metal panels for residential and commercial applications.  Designed several flashings for standing seam roof applications that are still in use today.
  • 2006-early 2009: Worked with Whole Foods Market in a variety of positions including Green Mission Representative for the Denver Distribution Center in Aurora, CO.  Responsible for studying, coordinating, and implementing, along with the Rocky Mountain Regional Green Mission Team, ecologically friendly and responsible policies and practices at Whole Foods stores and facilities.
  • Early 2007:  Began business development for PV Solar Planet LLC.
  • 2009: Left Whole Foods and began full-time marketing of PV Solar Planet.

 

Troy Wanek: Field Operations and Sales

  • Troy Wanek has been involved in general building construction since 1985.  In 2007 he transitioned from that work to be a general contractor for solar specific projects.  Troy learned early on that there was a great need in the Front Range for education in the solar technologies, over the past 1+ years he has been heavily involved in establishing curriculum and classes for Denver-area community colleges.  Troy has also been very active with the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association (CoSEIA), working with them in providing uniform permitting processes throughout the state, along with assisting in legislative efforts. 

 

John Scollon: Research and Development

  • John and TC met through Mountain States Metal, Inc. in 1993.  At the time John, owner of Scollon Roofing, was the only contractor in Colorado to own roll forming equipment producing custome metal roofing panels on site.  John  was at the forefront of the metal roofing industry boom and continues to provide quality roofing products and services.  John maintains a strong focus on research and development of many products and installation guidelines associated with the solar, roofing, and construction industries.
